Assistant Nursing Manager Obstetrics Labor Delivery

This respected hospital in Southeast Texas is searching for an Assistant Nursing Director to lead its Obstetrics Labor and Delivery department. Join a dedicated team of Obstetric RNs, and take oversight of a busy Women's Services line.


Reporting to Chief Nursing Officer, the Assistant Nursing Director will take operational, clinical, and administrative oversight of Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, and Postpartum units within this Women's Health Obstetrics department. You'll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining excellence in all three units of this department.


Supporting the Assistant Nursing Director, you'll find a strong team of RNC-OB Nursing Supervisors with years of clinical and leadership experience, you'll find compassionate and knowledgeable bedside nurses and Midwives, and you'll find an outstanding network of physicians. Leading the nursing team in clinical matters will mean keeping them up to date on current best practices, developing and leading education initiatives, and acting as a strong mentor and role model.¬ 


Working across discipline, the Obstetrics Assistant Nursing Director will also play a direct role in the administrative and operational aspects of the Women's Services Units. Through close collaboration with the finance and accounting office, you'll develop and deploy budgets that will steer the units. With the Quality and Risk departments, you'll sponsor and evaluate programs to reduce the possibility of problems, while improving the overall quality of nursing care and adherence to


Located¬ in the Southeast Texas, this trusted medical center acts as one of the primary acuity hubs for a county in any direction, helping trauma patients reach the right services safely. In some cases, that care will rest with the Labor & Delivery Assistant Director, in other cases the patient will move along to the proper level of care. Because this hub is so important, this hospital has enacted multiple programs meant to triage incoming patients more successfully and improve utilization and bedding times in its busy Emergency Department.¬
